The Soviet Union, admittedly, wasn’t a paradise, nor socialism was a magic wand to solve every human problem. Obviously, there were some things that were worse than under the competitive ideologies - but, at the same time, some things were definitely better.

This is why the USSR had such a great number of scientists, doctors, engineers, physicists; of any gender, race, or social background. It did stagger in some other areas, but in this regard, it was truly great.
