The CDC has reported additional cases of vision loss and deaths linked to bacterial contamination in recalled eye drops. Four deaths and 14 cases of vision loss have been reported in connection with infections caused by a rare drug-resistant bacteria.Patients used various brands of eye drops, with EzriCare Artificial Tears being the most common. The CDC has identified 81 patients in 18 states affected by the infections. The FDA and CDC have advised consumers to stop using the recalled products and seek medical care if experiencing symptoms.The bacteria can spread even among those who haven't used the eye drops, especially in healthcare settings. An FDA inspection found sterilization issues at the manufacturer's facility in India.
